ESEA State Ombudsman Community of Practice
The goal of the Ombudsman CoP is to provide TA to a select group of state ombudsmen related to implementing Equitable Services (Statutes, Regulations, and Guidance).
Based on state responses as well as knowledge of challenges in the field, the CoP will consist of three learning cycles (LC). Each LC will address one of the following topics:
- LC1: Organizing and managing high quality consultation with private schools Feb. 13, from 2:00pm – 3:30 (ET).
- LC2: Designing and implementing monitoring protocols; monitoring and enforcing the requirement to provide equitable services (Date: TBD)
- LC3: Supporting LEAs and private schools in disagreement including: a) Designing a formal dispute process, and b) State provision of services (Date: TBD)
